Mark Sonderup Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and Division of Hepatology
Mark Sonderup graduated MBChB from the University of Cape Town in 1995. Following his internship training, his postgraduate training was at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital where he obtained a Fellowship of the College of Physicians in 2002. Between 2002 and 2004, he completed a 2-year fellowship in Hepatology at the UCT/Medical Research Council Liver Research Centre and Liver Clinic at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town. He worked in the UK before being appointed as a Senior Specialist in the Department of Medicine and Division of Hepatology at UCT and Groote Schuur Hospital in 2007. He was granted a FRCP (London) in 2018. He is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and Division of Hepatology. Research interests include viral hepatitis and drug induced liver injuries. He has assisted in co-authoring the national viral hepatitis guidelines and elimination strategy for South Africa. He currently serves on the WHO Strategic Advisory Committee on Viral Hepatitis and is a Board Member of the African Hepatitis Initiative and Technical Advisory Board Member at LiveWell Initiative LWI

He currently works with UNICEF, as a National Immunization Supply Chain Consultant at the Abuja Country Office where he continues to support the COVID-19 Vaccine deployment efforts across the country.
He has coordinated and co-led public health supply chain programmes in the implementation of National immunization campaigns, operational deployment activities for COVID-19 vaccination and programmatic management of COVID-19 resources for Nigeria’s Presidential Task Force team on COVID-19 response, amongst others. He his adept at stakeholder’s management with extensive experience working and maintaining positive relationships globally, and with national level stakeholders, ministries and government officials.

Dr. Lewis R. Roberts Professor in Gastroenterology Cancer Research and Consultant
Dr. Lewis R. Roberts is the Peter and Frances Georgeson Professor in Gastroenterology Cancer Research and Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Mayo Clinic, where he is Co-Principal Investigator of the Mayo Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) in Hepatobiliary Cancers. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of liver and biliary carcinogenesis; biomarkers for diagnosis of liver, bile duct and pancreas cancers; and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis and liver cancer, with a particular interest in immigrant African communities in the USA as well as in Africa. He has authored over 400 articles, book chapters and letters, and co-edited the book "Evaluation and Management of Liver Masses". He serves as President of Africa Partners Medical, a non-profit organization focused on improving healthcare delivery in Africa through medical education, practical skills training, provision of medical equipment and supplies, and health advocacy; as President of the West Africa Institute for Liver and Digestive Diseases Foundation; and as a member of the Advisory Council for The Hepatitis Fund. Dr. Roberts is also a founding member of the Africa HepatoPancreatoBiliary Cancer Consortium. He is a Technical Advisory Board Member of Women in Hepatitis Africa WIHA.

Jim .A. Rice, PhD, LFACHE is Senior Adviser with the Governance & Leadership service line of Gallagher’s Human Resources & Compensation Consulting practice. He focuses his consulting work on strategic governance structures and systems for high performing, tax-exempt nonprofit, urban and rural credit unions, nonprofit social welfare organizations, rural Critical Access Hospitals in several states, and large hospitals and integrated care systems; visioning for large and small not-for-profit organizations; and leadership development for Physicians, Boards and C-Suite Senior Leaders. Dr. Rice holds masters and doctoral degrees in management and health policy from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Lok graduated from the University of Hong Kong Medical School. She completed her hepatology training in London under Dame Sheila Sherlock. She served as faculty at the University of Hong Kong until she moved to the United States in 1992. She joined the University of Michigan in 1995 and is currently Director of the Hepatology Program and Assistant Dean for Clinical Research.
Dr. Lok’s research focuses on natural history and treatment of hepatitis B and C. Her research also includes liver cancer and fatty liver. She has published more than 550 papers, has an h-index of 136 (Google scholar 9/2021) and was the top 1% most cited researchers during the decade 2002-2012. She co-authored every edition of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) guideline on hepatitis B since 2001, and the first World Health Organization guidelines on hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
Dr. Lok served as Associate Editor of Hepatology in 2001-2006 and Senior Associate Editor of Gastroenterology in 2011-2012, and President of the American Liver Association in 2017.
Dr. Lok has mentored more than 60 fellows and junior faculty from all over the world, many of whom have become full professors and heads of departments. She received many awards for teaching and mentoring including the Distinguished Mentor Award from the Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research in 2012 and an Inspirational Mentor Award from the American Medical Association in 2014.
Dr. Lok has received many awards throughout her career including the Distinguished Women Scientist Award from the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and Distinguished Scientist Award from the Hepatitis B Foundation in 2008, the Distinguished Service Award from the AASLD in 2011, the Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award from the American Liver Foundation in 2015, the William Beaumont Prize in Gastroenterology from the AGA in 2016, a Gold Medal Award from the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver and an Hon DSc from the University of Hong Kong in 2017, an International Recognition Award from the European Association for the Study of the Liver in 2018, and a Distinguished University Professorship from the University of Michigan in 2019.

I am Casimir MANZENGO MINGIEDI, Medical Doctor and Master of Public Health. I am bilingual, Congolese from DRC. I am working for WHO as Regional Hepatitis Advisor, Regional Office for Africa.
I have 26 years of Public Heath experience, beginning by the peripheral level as Clinician in DRC, at the Sub-National level, National level and now at AFRO Region since 2018.
As Hepatitis Regional Officer, I am supporting Africa countries to implement the Global Health Sector Strategy and the AFRO Regional Framework for Hepatitis elimination towards 2030. I am providing technical support to the countries in the guideline’s development according to the WHO recommendations.
In addition, with my strong Public Health and HIV background, as one of pioneers of PMTCT implementation in DRC rural Health Zones, I am assisting countries for the integration of Hepatitis program in the existing services, like HIV services and AnteNatal Care services.
Finally, I am contributing to the Hepatitis advocacy for Hepatitis awareness as a major public health threat in partnership with all actors, including the Organization of First Ladies in Africa for Development (OAFLAD).

Catherine Freeland is the Public Health Program Director and Research Fellow at the Hepatitis B Foundation.
She is the current program director of Hep B United Philadelphia, a local community coalition to address hepatitis B-related health disparities within Greater Philadelphia. Her areas of interest are viral hepatitis B, hepatocellular carcinoma, and addressing health disparities. Catherine is currently working towards her Ph.D. at Thomas Jefferson University, College of Population Health with a concentration in Health Behavior Science and pursuing a dissertation to address low hepatitis B birth dose uptake in Nigeria.
Nationally, she is the secretary of the National Task Force for Hepatitis B and manages Hep B United National Programs as well as a Hepatitis B-focused provider training program.

Calvin Q. Pan MD, MACP, FACG, FAASLD
Calvin Q. Pan, MD is a Professor of Medicine at the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Department of Medicine in NYU Langone Health, NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Pan received his MD degree from the State University of New York in Albany and a residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York, where he also completed a year of research fellowship in nephrology. After his Gastroenterology and Hepatology training at the Stony Brook University Hospital in New York, Dr. Pan joined the faculty at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, followed by the promotion to Assistant Professor in 2004 and Associate Professor in 2010. He went on to serve at the Tisch Hospital of NYU School of Medicine and attained the rank of Full Professor in 2012. Dr. Pan is an internationally recognized expert in viral hepatitis. He has devoted his career to more than 30 clinical trials in the last two decades and advancing our understanding of the natural history, prevention, and antiviral therapy for Hepatitis B or C. Among 200 plus peerreviewed scientific papers and abstracts published, Dr. Pan was the leading author of many original articles presented in the prestigious journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Gut, Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology, and American Journal of Gastroenterology. He also served as a primary writer for the expert consensus “Asian American Guidelines for Management of Chronic Hepatitis B” and “International Expert Consensus Guidelines on the Vertical Transmission of Hepatitis B”. He is an associate editor for several peer-reviewed scientific journals, including the World Journal of Hepatology, Liver Research, and the Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology. Besides academic work, Dr. Pan serves in a variety of leadership roles in professional organizations. He is the Chair-elect of the Hepatitis B Special Interest Group (2021-23) in the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), Past Chairman of the Online Learning Committee in AASLD (2017-19), Past Vice President of the Association of Chinese American Physicians (2010-12), and Board Member in the Political Action Committee of the American Gastroenterology Association (2019-22). A cersatile activist pharmacist, Luna is also a member of the FIP "Community Pharmacy" section, a member of the FIP "Non-communicable Diseases" Working group and, a member of the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists (OPL) scientific committee.
With more than 20 years of experience in academic, community, and industrial settings, Luna has solid expertise in active research in these areas with multiple publications in renowned journals and is an adjunct preceptor of the "Lebanese American University" and the "Lebanese International University".

Harriet Onyedibe is a Rising Clinical Pharmacist passionate about strengthening the healthcare system. He led the team from the FMOH that trained and established the Drugs Resistant Tuberculosis wards in University of Jos Teaching Hospital as well as Federal Medical Centre Owerri.
He is also involved in the training of health workers nationally in the Programmatic management of Tuberculosis.
He was involved in the formulation of the SOP on Drugs Resistant Tuberculosis for the FMOH in 2014.
He is the team Lead for the Covid -19 Case Management Team in Lagos State where he not only manages Cases of Covid -19, but was also responsible for the formulation of SOP, and Treatment Protocols, both for the State and Nationally.

Ulimma Nwadinaru Osele Pharmacist
Ulimma, a graduate of Pharmacy from the University of Lagos and a Woman in Hepatitis Africa WIHA champion, is a multifaceted pharmacist with over three years of experience in the public health sector. She began her career in public health as an Intern at the LiveWell Initiative LWI where she obtained the Johnson & Johnson scholarship, bagging a diploma in public health from Lagos Business School in partnership with AMREF Africa. Currently, she is a Senior Public Health Pharmacist at the Livewell initiative LWI, a not-for-profit health promotion and empowerment public health organization.
Her success in this field is not only attributed to her expertise but also her peculiar leadership skill. This has earned her several awards, one of which is the committee coordinator of the year, awarded by the young pharmacist group (YPG) Lagos, for her service as the public health coordinator 2020. During her service with YPG, she organized awareness campaigns, vaccine outreaches, and blood drives, aiming to bridge the gap in public health created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her passion for ensuring access to health interventions recently gained her a scholarship at the school of Public Health, Kwame Nkrumah University/ Department of Health Care Management, Technische Universität Berlin, for a course in Health Technology Assessment.
She is commonly called "jack of all trades" because of her experiences in community, clinical, and most recently industrial pharmacy, where she established the pharmacovigilance department for Annie Pharma Limited and currently works as the head of the unit. She is a member of several organizations, including but not limited to the African Forum for Primary Health Care, a forum advocating for primary health care within universal health coverage and Agathe Wehril Mentoring Chair, an arm of Livewell initiative.

Dr Motolani Oyerinde is Medical Doctor and Senior Family Health Officer at LiveWell Initiative LWI.
Dr Tolani as she is popularly called joined the organization 6 years ago as a Volunteer and Young Doctor under the organisation’s Volunteer Membership scheme, during which time she participated in several Health Outreaches, Health Fairs and Corporate Health Programmes. She is an Award-winning Young Doctor.
Dr Tolani has worked assiduously in the areas of Training, Peer Leadership, and Corporate Health. In particular, she led Health Missions into the Corporate Health Space, and she co-facilitated as Faculty Trainer in Hepatitis, at a continental Africa Regional Training Programme in Hepatitis which took place at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Festac Town Lagos State 4 years ago, attended by delegates from at least 15 African Countries.

TSu Wang, MD, MPH is the current President of the World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA), a patient-led organization whose mission is to harness the power of people living with viral hepatitis to achieve its elimination. She practices internal medicine and is the Medical Director of Viral Hepatitis Programs & the Center for Asian Health at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey, USA. Dr Wang has designed primary care-based hepatitis B and C care programs, initiatives for pregnant women with hepatitis B, and is involved with community outreach and community-based participatory research. She has served as primary investigator for a number of viral hepatitis screening and linkage-to-care grants sponsored by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other funders and is involved with US National Institute of Health funded programs in minority and Asian health.

My name is Mawugbe (Mawu for short as I like to be called). My journey as a Pharmacist has seen me go through all the different paths from working my first job in a university teaching hospital, to volunteering at HIV clinics in Africa to working in community pharmacy and then hospital pharmacy and specialising in mental health, to finally arriving at my destination in primary care as Medicines Optimisation Pharmacist in care homes and now medicines optimisation pharmacist at LLR.

Bisi Bright, is an international award winning Serial Social Entrepreneur, Health Systems Researcher, Adjunct Lecturer, Consultant Clinical Pharmacist, and Public Health Manager. She is 1st Vice Chairman and CEO of LiveWell Initiative LWI, a self-sustaining nonprofit healthcare social enterprise, which has impacted over 2million Nigerians and thousands of Ghanaians with health literacy, improved overall health, and wellness.
Bisi serves as an Internship Preceptor for MPH and DrPH at the prestigious Harvard T H Chan School of Public Health in Boston USA and is a visiting Doctoral Research ‘Opponent’ Faculty at the University of Helsinki, Finland.
Bisi sat on the Faculty of the Economist Conferences’ Healthcare in Africa; and is a two-time International Award winner of the IATDM/CT (International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology).

Omobolanle Victor-Laniyan Internal leader and “go to” expert for sustainability in Access Bank
Omobolanle Victor-Laniyan has been working in the field of Sustainability and Communications for over 17 years. She serves as the internal leader and “go to” expert for sustainability in Access Bank and the financial sector, monitoring emerging trends, programs and issues; communicating and educating others on sustainability. She mentors Sustainability champions in other African financial institutions and provides them with relevant support required to implement the necessary positive change in their institutions.
She joined Access Bank in 2008 to establish the Sustainability function and has since led the Bank’s efforts in its Sustainability performance. In 2011, she initiated the Nigeria Sustainable Finance Week to create awareness and education on Sustainability and the need for the financial sector in Nigeria to develop a set of principles that will guide their sustainability performance. This was implemented in collaboration with UNEPFI and the DFIs, leading to the development of the Nigeria Sustainable Banking Principles.
Omobolanle has since been actively involved in ensuring implementation both within Access Bank and other financial institutions. Justin is the Co-founder of VXPASS and its President, a digital vaccination verification and administration platform built on the Bitcoin SV blockchain. He is, and has been, a global entrepreneur focusing on technology, management, health doctrine and strategy.
Justin founded a product design company while still in college (Savannah College of Art and Design) called Survival Solutions.
